SWCP 50th Anniversary!

As many of you are likely already aware, the South West Coastal Path runs right outside our very grounds. We meet so many walkers who are journeying along this spectacular trail. This year marks the 50th anniversary of this glorious path, and most importantly, 50 years of its continual mission to “protect, promote and enhance the UK's best-loved National Trail.” Discover how you can help celebrate and support the SWCP…

SWPC 50th Anniversary!

  1. Trialblazer Walk

The birthday year kicked off back during National Walking Month in May with a 50th Anniversary Relay Trailblazer walk across the full 630 miles of the path. The walk started in Minehead on 12th May and South Haven Point on 27th May, but will finish at Royal William Yard, in Plymouth on 15th June where the charity will celebrate its golden milestone.

It’s free to take part but there are limited spaces per walk, so booking is essential.
    Grab your ticket on Eventbrite

  2. Donate!

We hope you’ve had many incredible experiences along this historic path over the years, but the SWCP want to ensure that it’s still here for you, for many more years to come.

For 50 years the SWCP have been the charity helping you to protect this precious resource. So help them celebrate, and donate here. “your gift could help us so much”.

  3. Listen To Their Podcast

“630 Miles - An Audio Journey” is a monthly podcast created as part of their 50th-anniversary celebrations!

Rachel Hadley-Leonard, a 2022 South West Coast Path completer and fundraiser is hosting the 630 miles, monthly podcast. Each month she interviews the amazing people that help to make the South West Coast Path one of the world's greatest Trails.

So “meet the volunteers that help to protect this incredible natural resource, the artists that take inspiration from the coastal landscape, the organisations that work tirelessly to protect the heritage and wildlife along the coastline, the businesses who depend on the Path, plus we delve into some of the research that we have undertaken to highlight the health and wellbeing benefits of walking the Path.

    So tune in and listen!”
