What We’re Up To | Renovations at Housel Bay

We closed our doors after the festive period, and no we haven’t been hibernating during this frosty month…Quite literally as soon as our final guest left us, we got to work! Discover what we’re up to, and check out our latest renovation updates…

What We’re Up To | Renovations at Housel Bay

  • New Public Washrooms

You may have noticed that our public washrooms were rather….behind the times? Or a more honest review, they were last renovated in the 1970s (just a guess) and a makeover was way over due! Not only are the ladies, gents, and accessibility bathrooms getting a big face lift (a good and proper gutting), we’re also giving them an extension. Ladies, no more queuing! We now have three cubicles with a stylish frosted floor to ceiling window, popping blue tiles that echo the sea, and overall design features that flow with the future vision of Housel Bay.

  • Room Makeovers!

Let’s just say that some of our rooms were a little in need of a makeover also. In those rooms we’ve waved goodbye to old bathroom fixtures, out of date furniture, and just in general getting our rooms to echo a much more modern, coastal aesthetic.

From February 13th all our Panoramic View rooms will have contemporary bathrooms, some with that pop of blue you will notice in our new public washrooms. All Cosy Country View rooms similarly will no longer have old bathrooms, and have each been given a new interior lift! We’re also excited to launch at the end of February our newest Roomy Country View rooms, which will have their own bespoke wooden backboards, ethical hanging ceiling lights and extra space, giving them that roomy feel. As well as beautiful views from the east side of the hotel, of rolling hills, and agriculture (stay tuned to see them get added to the website).

  • Public Washrooms - Mechanical Heat Ventilation Recovery (MHVR) System

We lastly wanted to shout out the cool system we’re installing in the new ground floor washrooms. This is an eco system which ensures that the heated stale air that is extracted from all the washroom toilets is not wasted, instead passes over a Heat Exchanger which in turn heats the fresh incoming air, hence saving considerable energy (and the environment).

Come and see our renovations completed for yourselves! Stay with us from the 13th February and experience winter on the coast.
