Introducing Jess Hardy, our new resident yoga teacher.

“I started practising yoga 9 years ago and quickly fell in love with how it challenged my body and the progress I saw with regular practice. The flexibility and strength built in yoga was a great way to complement my other forms of exercise. But yoga had benefits on more than just a physical level, helping to calm my mind when focusing solely on the movement of the body, which has been particularly helpful with the stresses of working as a doctor.

Last year I completed my yoga teacher training in Spain. I did this initially to deepen my own practice but began to really enjoy building creative flows to share with others. The training of ashtanga paired with vinyasa has given me the grounding knowledge of alignment in postures but the understanding that every body is different and offering variations is vital. My intention with each class is to build to a peak posture and focus on strength, combined into fluid sequences inspired by practising dance in my teenage years.

Since qualifying last year I have covered classes in Birmingham and Falmouth, and I’m looking forward to teaching a regular class in a lovely intimate studio in the beautiful location of the Lizard!”
