Join us this March to experience A Taste of the Wild, led by award winning author Rachel Lambert, our Head Chef Joseph Fallowfield and our Hotel Manager Cassie Roche. Rachel, Joe and Rachel have pulled together something very close to their hearts. Their collective passion for nature, for food, and the sourcing of nature’s larder. Experience A Taste of the Wild, a break designed to explore how to bridge the gap between hedgerow or coast path, and your dinner plate.
Wild ingredients loom large in this coastal area. It is also an area of pure natural beauty, the perfect place to explore, walk and forage. The course dates have been set to take into account factors such as low tides, and the abundance of particular wild ingredients.
After a warm welcome, you’ll meet Joe, Cassie and Rachel, as well as the other guests. We will present with a little talk, then give you an information pack about your stay. Each day starts with a full breakfast on the Terrace. After breakfast you will be given an overview of the delicious recipes to be prepared on the day before heading off on a foraging excursion along the coast, hedgerows or onto the beach…
The Food: Your meals will be truly seasonal, using a combination of local produce, and the foraged ingredients gathered on the day. Each evening will culminate in a three course meal, and an evening around a communal table eating the delights that we have foraged and cooked together.
Foraging Walks: The coast path is rugged, the hedgerows soft. Walks will be somewhere between a gentle amble and an invigorating excursion, depending on the weather, the group and people’s interests.
Cooking Tuition: Under the direction of Head Chef Joe, you will work in teams to prepare a culinary experience truly expressive of our beautiful location.
The following morning your day will start with a hearty Cornish breakfast, followed by a talk about the day ahead.
The cost for the two day A Taste of the Wild experience will be £380 per person sharing. Single supplement is £25 per night.
