Current Opportunities

Front of House Manager

We are looking for a Front of House Manager, a full time position, to run a smooth and effective operation of all eat and drink spaces operating at Housel Bay Hotel & Restaurant.

These include our Marconi’s Bar, our casual dining restaurant, The Terrace, and our signature restaurant Fallowfields (2 Rosette awarded). Fallowfield’s offers a five course tasting menu, with optional paired wines, as well as a la carte.

The position will lead managing the Front of House team ensuring that our core mission, of delivering exceptional quality food and drink and a memorable experience to all of our guests, is delivered consistently.

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver high levels of customer experience and a high quality product.
  • Lead on recruitment, training, and development of all team members, including introductory, regular appraisal and annual staff reviews.
  • Ensure that statutory licensing legislation is adhered to, and that all staff are trained to uphold the conditions of the Liquor Licences.
  • Monitor costs and expenses within the department.
  • Work to maximise covers, turnover and profit, whilst keeping costs at a minimum.
  • Assist in other departments where necessary. 

What you offer:

  • Previous management experience within a high volume, quality restaurant and/or bar.
  • Previous experience of managing a large team
  • Excellent knowledge of customer care and complaint handling
  • Budgetary and costing experience, including cash handling
  • Computer literate
  • Extensive wine and drinks knowledge, including barista and mixologist experience
  • Experience of running events including weddings and private dining.
  • Excellent leader, approachable and a role model to others
  • Career driven and enthusiastic about developing others
  • Ability to be calm under pressure
  • Consistent punctuality and dedication
  • A professional and positive attitude
  • Passion for delivering a unique guest experience
